Over the coming years, we face a growing threat from Reform both locally and nationally. Young Labour must be ready to take on Reform and win. To do that, we need every young member to bring their skills and experience to the table- and we need an active, empowering, and engaged Young Labour Women’s network to lead that effort.
As Chair of East Midlands Young Labour for the past two years, I have organised canvassing sessions, phonebanks, training, socials, debates, and joint events with trade unions. Alongside this, I have run listening surveys and used member feedback to shape and improve our activity, keeping members informed through a regular newsletter.
As a National Policy Forum representative, I have also delivered policy events featuring speakers from across our movement, bringing young members to the heart of policy and decision-making.
This work has connected, activated, and upskilled members across the region, and it’s what we now need to take nationally. By combining this experience with close listening to young members, I know how to build a Young Labour Women’s network that delivers.
As your Women’s Officer I will lead our team to be:
Active: Hosting events in every region, delivering training sessions, and expanding our national programme.
Empowering: Creating an environment where everyone can thrive through under-18s inclusive events, work with trade unions, and active solidarity with our trans siblings.
Engaged: Ensuring listening and transparency through regular outreach surveys, officer reports, and a consistent newsletter.
