For South West Representative
L3103281
I am running for South West Representative with Organise because I care about
providing opportunities for young members in the South West. Since I was 4, I have
called the South West my home. I am proud Bristolian studying at Exeter University.
Growing up in a close-knit community in North Bristol, hard work and kindness are two
of my key values. I joined the Labour Party in 2023 because I believed in justice, fighting
inequality and that collectively we have power.
I have been women’s officer on the Young Labour Southwest Committee for a year
helping to organise the relaunch event and running campaign sessions. I am an
experienced organiser holding the role of Membership Officer in my CLP during my gap
year. I held social events monthly to build community and attract non-active members.
Regionally, the Southwest is challenged by public transport, but I am determined that
this isn’t a barrier to building community.
From my personal experience CLPs can be an incredible place for young members. Focusing on a CLP based strategy, I want to provide online training for Role holders in how to create inclusive and welcoming
environments, for young members to grow. Working with Young Labour Branches I want
to hold social and campaigning events across the region.
Having a united and inclusive Young Labour is important for young members to feel valued and to fight the far right.
I would be a hardworking, community building candidate who cares deeply about young
members opportunities in the South West.
