For National Chair

L1747279

I am standing for Chair of Young Labour because I believe, deeply and unapologetically, in the
Labour Party as a force for social justice and progressive change. As Chair, I would offer a
leadership that listens to all and works to open doors for young members in all of our towns,
villages and cities.
I understand the challenges our young members face - insecure work, rising rents and being
overlooked because of age or background - because I have lived them.
Growing up in Oldham, Lancashire, has shaped my politics. I’ve seen firsthand the damage of
austerity - with public services hollowed out and opportunities narrowed. I have also seen the
dangers of extremism, and I know how vital it is that our party is united to defeat the far right.
Since joining Labour, I have worked tirelessly as a campaigner in my own community and
supported canvassing efforts across the country. I am a confident and effective communicator,
with experience organising, mobilising and delivering under pressure.
As Chair, my focus would be on building an outward-facing, disciplined and effective
organisation: strengthening Young Labour’s campaigning capacity and expanding our digital
operation to counter the far right online.
Young Labour has always been a vital campaigning force, and that role is more important than
ever. We must also nurture the next generation of leaders from every part of the UK.
I would be a clear, credible and authentic voice for young members, working every day to
organise, campaign and win.
