Alex Bradley
For West Midlands Representative
L1956358
I’m Alex, and I’m standing to be your representative for the West Midlands on the Young Labour National Committee. I was born in Birmingham, and I’ve spent my youth growing up on Council estates, living on the breadline in a working class home. It was this experience, witnessing the failures of consecutive Tory Governments, that first inspired me to engage more with the party.
We all know that young people are increasingly unengaged with politics, especially those from less privileged backgrounds. Many see politics as something that simply happens outside of their life, whereas others think it’s something they’re not supposed to get involved in because of where they’re from.
If elected, my main goal would be to ensure that all young people, no matter who they are, and where they are from, feel like they can get involved with our party at a local and national level.
Whilst we’re in Government, we have an incredible opportunity to make a valuable and significant difference to the lives of so many in this country. We have to grasp this opportunity while we can, and at the same time tackle the divisive politics of Reform and Nigel Farage.
The Government has introduced many good policies, especially in regards to lifting children out of poverty, but there is more work to do, and I want to provide a voice to the young people in the West Midlands, so that their views are heard by those in power.
