For East Mids Representative
L3093605
I am putting myself forward for chair of East Mids Young Labour because I believe young members in the East Midlands should have a Chair who is inclusive, engaged, and reliable. Young Labour should be a place where members come to improve their skills in organising and campaigning but also make friends and enjoy events
Throughout the East Midlands, young people are experiencing insecure employment, the ever-present problem of the cost of living and the continued threat of Reform. Young Labour members have a significant part to play in tackling these issues both through local campaigning, supporting young candidates, and maintaining our representation in the region. With effective organisation and clear leadership, Young Labour can have real influence.
I have been a committed member of the Labour Party for the past three years, and I’m proud to have won the Youth Campaigning Award in our region. I have been the Youth Officer for Erewash for the last two years, where we have delivered many campaign days for young members as well as Labour students. I have gained a great deal of experience regarding the delivery of youth organising.
If elected I would bring all the skills I've learnt and apply them to the East Mids where I believe they would be incredibly effective. With the rise of Reform and the current issues young people are facing we need to make sure our voices are heard more than ever and I would make sure that they are.
