Rhianna Gorman

Hi, my name is Rhianna Gorman, and I would be honoured to be elected as your Labour Students Northern Representative. Having lived in the North my whole life, growing up in Lancashire and now living in Durham, I have experienced and truly understand the unique challenges our region has and continues to face. I would love the opportunity to represent the North in national politics, ensuring our region is never left-behind.
I have experience representing regional interests on a national level - last year, I was elected as Lead Delegate to national party Conference for my constituency. I have also worked for several local MPs in both constituency and Westminster offices, deepening my understanding and ability to resolve regional concerns.
My priorities are inclusion, representation, and community. I strongly believe that politics must be accessible to everybody, regardless of their background. I pledge to hold Northern Labour Student events in the region, removing barriers to participation. I will also regularly meet with local MPs to discuss the concerns of members, facilitating tangible changes to daily life.
This year, it was my privilege to restart Durham University Labour Society, experiencing the benefits of a welcoming community first-hand. I will work with students in the region, helping them to create more student Labour Societies, building a thriving Labour student movement across the North.
Most importantly, this role is not about me - it is about you! I will always be happy to discuss any issues with members, helping me to champion Northern voices.
