Millie Wood
For Yorkshire and Humber Representative
L1736832
Students in our region need a representative who will fight for their voices within the party and someone who will champion the issues that matter to them. I’m standing because I believe we need stronger connections between our societies, that every student should have access to a strong culture, and that we should have better support for our activists.
My priorities are clear: to build a more engaged network of students across our region, making sure that their voices are heard, and to create opportunities for all students. I promise to develop regular campaigning and regional events and improve communications between universities.
I bring a variety of experience to the table: I am one of the HULC co-chairs and previously served as women’s officer and campaign coordinator. I worked as a mobilisation assistant at the last general election, so I understand the impact that well-organised student groups have. More recently, I’ve had the opportunity of organising a group of Hull students to go campaign in Redcar for the day as part of a successful council by-election.
Alongside this, I am committed to being accessible: whether it’s responding to messages, visiting every university society in our region, or ensuring that every member feels included, regardless of background, I will be there.
If I’m elected, I’ll ensure our student movement is organised, inclusive, and ready to campaign to bring our incredible grassroots together.
