Hi! I’m Joshua Horsfall and I’m standing to be your next LGBT+ Officer.


The past few years have not been easy for young LGBT+ people and the right has attacked our community viciously. My first priority as LGBT+ Officer will be to unequivocally support the rights of our Trans siblings, in the Party and in society. Labour Students must be a place where trans members can thrive, and I’ll work with our Trans Officer to ensure your voices are heard.


If elected, I want to work with university Labour Societies from across the country to ensure our movement is as welcoming as possible for LGBT+ members across our regions and nations. I’ll be an accessible representative, taking on board your suggestions to inform my campaign priorities, and raising any concerns you have, from the grassroots level to the national committee.

As LGBT+ people, we understand that our fight for equality isn’t complete until we’ve fought off all forms of discrimination. I will place intersectionality at the heart of everything I do, working closely with other Liberation Officers to ensure our movement reflects the true diversity of our communities.
