Finn McGrady Strachan

For Chair of Scottish Labour Students

L1448759

My name is Finn McGrady Strachan and I’m standing to be the next chair of Scottish Labour Students. I joined the Labour Party almost 3 years ago, convinced then as I am now, that the Labour movement is the only viable vehicle for the implementation of the progressive values and social justice that is so desperately needed across the United Kingdom.
I am so proud to be a member of such a vibrant student wing and to campaign amongst some of the most passionate and determined young activists in the country. I believe that we must champion and embolden that passion and ensure that it is recognised in the campaign for a Labour victory in Holyrood later this year. On top of this I want to amplify student voices at a local level, ensuring that they are not only heard but also appreciated and taken into consideration when it comes to both individual constituency campaigns and the broader shaping of Scottish Labour policy as we move towards the Holyrood elections.
I also believe that we must stand up to the threat of the far-right, both at the electoral level and in our universities and colleges, ensuring that we all do what we can to ensure the safety of all on campuses across Scotland, and to challenge the broader political threat that Reform UK pose.
