Lusungu Nkhoma
For East Mids Representative
L3145350
Hi, my name is Lusungu, and I’m excited to be running to be your next East Midlands Rep.
Labour Students has been an incredible way for me to get involved in politics: I was privileged to have been President of UOL Labour Society, alongside serving as Youth Officer for Lincoln CLP. It was the support of my local party and representatives, as well as my friends and family, that allowed me to do those things.
Now, I want to draw upon my experiences to provide other students in the East Mids with those same opportunities; connecting members across our region and making sure our voices are heard nationally. If elected, I’ll be an accessible representative for all students in the East Mids, listening to your feedback and providing support to clubs across our region.
We know that the Labour Party is the only party which can deliver for young people and students in the UK. When the government took the momentous decision to abolish the two-child benefit cap, it was representative of the values that our movement is built upon. It was also a testament to the strength that young people and students can have when we speak together, campaigning for the progressive change that we believe in.
If elected, it is that progressive change that I will fight for, representing the student members across our region who make our movement what it is. Please consider voting for me, and I will try my best to do our region proud.
