Hi everyone! My name’s Awab Kennedy, and I’m running to be your Labour Students BAME Officer! We all know the challenges that BAME students face on campus all too well, and the threat of Reform has only added to the challenges that we have faced for years. That’s why it’s more important than ever that we have principled, socialist representation to fight for you on campus. I understand the frustration that BAME student members have felt. That’s why a vote for me will be a vote for a Labour Students that:
• Represents BAME students by listening to and raising your concerns. I will run an anonymous Google form for feedback and hold frequent meetings with student labour societies.
• Includes and engages BAME members everywhere. I will host events in every nation and region, run a Parliament trip for BAME students, and work with the Young Labour BAME Officer to finally bring back BAME Young Labour.
• Fights for BAME students and their concerns. I will stand against rising antisemitism, racism, xenophobia and islamophobia nationally, and stand with our oppressed siblings worldwide, from Gaza, to Sudan, to our Jewish siblings against the struggles that they face.
